Dajiang¡¯s Poultry Product will be Shipped to Japan

Dajiang (Group) Stock Co Ltd in Shanghai, China's leading poultry producer, said yesterday that it would resume exports to Japan since the country lifted the ban on some Chinese cooked chicken products on Wednesday.
Dajiang is among 35 approved companies in China including Beijing Dafa Chiatai Co Ltd, Shandong Zhucheng Trading Co Ltd, Shandong Fambros Group and Jilin Deda Co Ltd, etc.
"The news is encouraging to us as most of Dajiang's exports were earmarked for Japan," said Gu Weiwen, the company's board secretary. "The bird flu crisis has finally come to an end. We are ready to export but waiting for the completion of written procedures."
The Shanghai-listed company exported 15,000 tons of chicken meat last year, 80 percent of which went to Japan with revenue of US$24 million. Dajiang's total output was 45,000 tons during the period.
Cooked chicken products account for major part of Dajiang's exports as the company traded around 10,000 tons cooked chicken last year, Gu continued.
Japan banned poultry imports from China on January 27 after China's mainland reported the first case of bird flu disease. Last year, China exported US$377 million in poultry and related products, 70 percent of which went to Japan.
