Shanghai Strengthens Quarantine to Ensure no Poultry with Epidemics to Enter Markets

There are two major measures to be implemented. The first is to have immunization and epidemic monitor so as to ensure that no poultry epidemics occur within the city. The second is monitoring at the road entrances and monitoring and control along the municipal border to ensure no epidemics are contracted from outside of the city. The local standard of Regulations on Live Chicken Trade issued by the Shanghai Food and Drug Supervision Bureau went into effect on July 1st and the departments concerned will keep updated with the epidemic situations in relevant regions and will make great effort to strengthen monitoring at road entrances and along the municipal border. The first administrative permit formulated by the Municipal Government of Shanghai this year is on the strict control of livestock farms. Any one who wants to start a livestock farm must acquire the administrative permit first
