Ministry of Agriculture of China: Bird Flu Vaccine in China Can’t Become a “Time Bomb”

“Bird flu vaccine is possible to bring about new variation of bird flu virus, just like time bomb, which will increase the risk of spread of the virus in human being”, British “New Scientist” reported. Mr. Jia Youling, Chief Engineer of Animal Husbandry in China indicated that the bird flu vaccine used for immune of poultry disease in China can’t become a “time bomb”.
“The vaccine developed and used in China is a inactivated vaccine and can’t bring about variation of bird flu virus and spread of the epidemic disease” said Mr. Jia Youling. “We usually use the vaccine when the disease spreads seriously. The vaccine developed in China with H5N2 attenuated virus is totally inactivated, which is different from other type of vaccine and the protection can reach 100% under the conditions of laboratory. Besides, the real immunity of the vaccine is also very effective” he continued.
