Jiangsu has Constructed the Biggest Fine Variety Goose Base in China

The biggest fine variety goose base has been constructed in Guanyun County, Jiangsu province, where there is a rich resource of water and grass. According to statistics, the number of breeder goose raised in Yi Hetang Region of the county has reached 1.2 million, at present, and it will be extended to 2.5 million in this year to construct a biggest fine variety goose base in China.

According to introduction by Mr. Deng Zhaoting, Director of Bureau of Animal Husbandry in Guanyun County, a Modernized Reproductive Demonstration Garden of Fine Variety Goose, with total investment 3.7 million yuan (RMB), occupying more than 30 million mu of land (15 mu=1 ha.) is under construction and more than 1000 breeder geese have been introduced form French and Germany. At present, breeder goose reached 12000 and can meet the need of goose breed improvement of the base.

The construction of the base has attracted investment by deep processing enterprises. Last year, individual entrepreneur Mr. Wu Songqing in the county invested more than 30 million yuan to establish Xingyun Goose Corporation Ltd, together with Nanjing University, to develop “Huaguoshan” series goose products, which can “digest” all fine variety geese produced in the base.
