Two New N5 Subtype Bird Flu Vaccines Were Successfully Developed
Organized by both the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and funded by National ¡°973¡± and ¡°863¡± Programs, a new H5N1 subtype bird flu killed vaccine and avian live fowl pox virus vector-based vaccine, which possesses international advanced level with high efficacy and safety, were successfully developed recently by more than 30 experts in Animal Flu Key Opened Laboratory in the Institute of Harbin Veterinary Medicine, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and National Bird Flu Reference Laboratory.

The new H5 subtype bird flu killed vaccine was prepared from the strain of highly attenuated H5N1 subtype vaccine, using international advanced construction strategy of bird flu vaccine strain¡ªgene reverse handling for flu virus and its surface gene deciding immunity protection was from epidemic high pathogenic strain of bird flu and artificially lose the gene group deciding high pathogen series of bird flu virus. The vaccine is not only safe to mammals, but also to poultries.

H5 subtype bird flue recombined fowl pox vaccine was a new type gene engineering bird flue and fowl pox vaccine constructed with high mature and safe fowl pox virus as vector, which is a highly specific with immunity period 6~10 months, with great superiority compared with that of same vaccine in the world now. The vaccine is characterized with high efficiency, safety and low cost and convenient for epidemic monitoring.
