Lecture on Poultry Disease and Practical Bio Safety Technology
In coping with the preventing of Avian Influenza, strengthening bio safety consciousness of poultry breeding farms and enhancing a scientific recognition of HACCP management system of the slaughtering enterprises, the lecture on Poultry Disease and Practical Bio Safety Technology jointly organized by CAAA and ASA was held in Jinglun Hotel, Beijing on April 20 2004.

Dr. Simon, honorary professor of the Department of Poultry Medicine of the University of Veterinary Medicine, Louisiana; U.S., Dr. Ho Hanfa, former official of the Ministry of Agriculture of Singapore and advisor on vet medicine were invited to give lectures on Prevention of Avian Influenza; Prospects on Practical Bio Safety in China; World Wide Status on Poultry Meat Hygiene; Location and management of Slaughter Enterprises for Export Poultry; HACCP Application in Poultry Processing Plant. Some over 120 personnel from poultry breeding farms, slaughter enterprises including veterinarians, technical supervisors and scientific researchers from Beijing and elsewhere around attended and benefited a lot from the class.

Mr. Shen Guang, Standing Secretary-general of CAAA presided over a brief opening ceremony prior to the class. Vice President of CAAA, Shen Weijie; Chief Representative of ASA Beijing Office, Lei Tianlong; Poultry Technical Director of ASA Beijing Office, Shen Huile, Director of the Department of Scientific Promotion of the National Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Service of the Ministry of Agriculture, Liu Lin; Veterinarian Advisor of Huadu Group, Beijing, Fu Xianqiang, and Veterinarian Doctor of the Institute of Beijing Agriculture and Forestry Science, Liu Yuehuan, were at the ceremony.

Dr. Ho Hanfa also paid a visit to CAAA President Chen Yaochun during the lecture and they two exchanged views on the prevention of poultry diseases and the status quo of slaughtering and processing in China and the world over.
