China completed full gene sequencing in 4 strains of fowl influenza virus According to the introduction by the news speaker of high virulent fowl influenza control office of MOA, MOA had received the report from the State Fowl Influenza Reference Laboratory: The pathological identification of the suspected fowl influenza samples collected from Longan County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Wuxie City, Hubei Province, and Wugang City, Hunan Province showed that they had isolated a total of 4 strains of subtype of H5N1 of high virulent fowl influenza virus. A few days ago, they have completed the all gene sequencing work on these 4 strains. According to preliminary analysis, the virus distribution is significantly related to regions, and the genetic relationship is fairly distant from the H5N1 sub-type high virulent fowl influenza virus isolated in Hong Kong in 1997.
