Pigs with Lactic Feed Until Skin Polished and Pork Moistened
A few days ago, Mr. Xie Mingquan, the Director of the Department of
Science and Technology, Guangdong Province and other 9 experts in
animal nutrition and livestock science took part in the research achievement
appraisal of the latest research project, untitled ˇ°Pollution-free
Swine Production Technology. According to report, there are only 3
pig farms in the Guangdong Province using this technology, with a
total pig population of over 30000 pigs.
The reporter saw together with the expert group in Huadu District
that these large size pigs are uniform in body confirmation with polished
skin and moistened pork as well as short and thin bristles. According
to the introduction by Prof. Feng Dingyuan from the South China Agricultural
University, the feeding of these ˇ°safe pigˇ± has changed from the normal
application of antibiotics, hormones and other drugs as feed additives,
they ate a feed enriched with in lactic bacteria. They are not only
good in quality but also are free from drugs and hormones. According
to report, the technology of making use of lactic bacteria in pig
feeding has been successfully extended in Japan and other foreign
countries in the world.
Clean pigsty is free from odor and pigs can reach market weight
ahead of time.
According to report, Guangdong Province has not realized the ˇ°zeroˇ±
breakthrough to export pork of Japan and European and American regions
for a long period of time. The most critical cause is the feeding
technology has not freed from drug dependence, causing many technical
targets could not pass the examination. The expert group expressed
that if this technology can successfully popularize, it will break
through the deadlock of pork export from the province.
The head of the pig farm told the reporter that the pig farm raised
over 10000 pigs; in the past the survival rate was about 90%. But
after adopting the new technology, the pig survival rate has been
improved to 95%, each year the farm can produce 500 finishing pigs
each year, a net profit of 80000 yuan RMB. Moreover, the finishing
time has been reduced. Let us take a pig of 100 kg body weight as
an example, the feeding time has been narrowed to 150 days, the finishing
pigs are most Grade-A pigs, which is about 30% more than normal pig
farms.
What is more surprising is that you cannot smell the pig dung odor
in this pig farm. The reason is that lactic feed can adjust gastric
and intestinal tract, decompose various toxins, therefore pig dung
is almost free from pig dung odor. According to introduction by workers
on the pig farm, the pig farm has a survival rate of 100% since last
year and no pigs suffer from any kinds of diseases.
First special marketing shop has opened in Guangzhou City.
According to introduction by personnel concerned, at present, the
pork produced from this pig farm has marketed to hotels and restaurants
in Guangzhou and has not marketed to groceries in large scales. According
to report, recently pollution-free ˇ°safe portˇ± will be marketed in
special shops. The first special safe pork grocery will be opened
in Guangzhou City in April 2004.
According to introduction by experts, these safe and environment protection,
drug free and residue free safe pork has fresher appearance, with
pink in port color, red viscera. The taste is even better than fresh
pork.
