Transmissible Gastroenteritis and Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Vaccine, Inactivated Gained First Prize of Scientech Advancement in Heilongjiang Province
The vaccine was developed by a research group in Harbin Institute of Veterinary Medicine, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, headed by Mr. Ma Siqi, a researcher and Mr. Tong Youen, associate researcher through many years of hard working.

The characteristics of the vaccine are high efficacy, inoculated on Houhai Point of pig body (a breakthrough of conventional way of vaccination) and high immunity, only one time vaccination, time and labor saving. It is proved by on line retrieving that the vaccine is successful in leading position in the world with original innovation.

The active immunity of inactivated vaccine is 96% and passive immunity is 85.1%. The active immunity for attenuated one is 97.7% and the passive immunity is 98% with immunity duration 6 months. The passive immunity period of piglet is from sucking period to one week after weaning. The preservation of the vaccine (4~8¡æ) is one year and it is two years for attenuated frozen (-20¡æ)vaccine.

The vaccine gained national first grade certificates for new medicine in 1999 and 2003 respectively and a product first developed in China with intellectual property, which was listed as national major extension project by Ministry of Science and Technology in 2000.
