and Swine Epidemic Diarrhea Combined Vaccine gained First-Grade Prize
of Science and Technology Progress in Heilongjiang Province
The ¡°GTE and Swine Epidemic Diarrhea Combined Vaccine¡± research project
with Professor Ma Siqi and associate professor Tong Youen from the
Harbin Institute of Veterinary Medicine, Chinese Academy of Agricultural
Sciences as the principal investigators had gained First-Grade Prize
of Science and Technology Progress by Heilongjiang Province a few
day ago. This is the first time for Heilongjiang Province to give
Grade A prizes in the domain of veterinary medicine in history
Research staff had started the study since the 6th Five-Year Plan,
and research topic had been listed as the state science and technology
key research project during the 8th and 9th Five-Year Plans.
This combined vaccine has the following characters: high virulence,
inoculation in Hou Hai Xue, which will strengthen immune protection
capacity. It only needs one inoculation. It is time saving, and labor
saving. Through domestic verification online, this vaccine is leading
in the world and has preliminary innovation in technology.
The positive immune protection rate of this vaccine is 96%, while
passive immune protection rate of the vaccine is 85.1%. The positive
immune protection rate of the attenuated vaccine is 97.7%, while passive
immune protection rate of the attenuated vaccine is 98%. The immune
period of these two kinds of vaccine is 6 months. The passive immune
period for piglets is during the suckling period to one week after
weaning. The shelf life of the vaccine is one year at temperature
of 4~8 ¡æ and the attenuated freeze-dry vaccine has a shelf life of
2 years at temperature of -20¡æ.
The combined vaccine has gained two state First-Grade new drug certificates
of killed vaccine and attenuated vaccine by the Ministry of Agriculture
in 1999 and 2003, respectively. They are pioneers in the product with
independent intellectual property right. In 2000, it had been listed
as a key extension project support by the Ministry of Science and
Technology. In 2002, it had been listed on the state key new product
by the Ministry of Science and Technology, State Administration of
Taxation, State Bureau of Environment Protection, State Quality Supervision
and Examination Bureau and the Ministry of Foreign Trade.
