Zaozhuang constructed a first Xiang Pig Farm in North area
After Mr. Qi Zhenguo, a villager from Beizhuang town, Zaozhuang
City, Shangong Province introduced 40 heads of Xiang pig (small
type of fragrant pig) of two lines including ¡°Huanjiang¡±and ¡°Bama¡±
in October, 2003 from Guangxi Province, now his Xiang pig farm has
been developed into a certain scale special pig farm having more
than 150 heads of female Xiang pig, two heads of wild pigs and more
100 heads of loafing feeding Xiang pig, with total property of more
than 1 million yuan (RMB). According to introduction of experts,
this is the first Xiang pig farm in north areas of China, so far.
Xiang pig is a kind of rare variety of pig in south area of China
and is mainly used for lab animal and roasted Xiang pig. A new-born
Xiang pig can grow into 5~10 kg, the standard weight for roasted
Xiang pig, within about 20days and the productive cost is relatively
low. A 10 kg weight of roasted Xiang pig can be sold for several
hundred yuan in Market and the economic benefit is good. Besides,
Xiang pig can be processed into other kinds of roasted product,
which are very delicious and expensive.
