The
Technology for Pig Feed Industrialization Has Achieved Major Breakthrough
in China
China is the biggest country for pig raising and the
second biggest country for feed production, and the feed production
for pig accounts for more than 40% of the total feed production in
the whole country.
The project of ˇ°Research and Extension on Key Technology of High Quality
and Efficiency Pig Feed Industrializationˇ± organized by Professor
Li Defa, College of Animal Science, China Agricultural University
has gained major innovative results on key technology of pig feed
industrialization, which explored ˇ°the Mechanism of Ideal Protein
Promoting Protein Deposition in Pig Bodyˇ±, developed the technology
of ideal protein mixed pig balancing ration and established a standard
method to test biological value of amino acid in pig feed. On this
basis, 7 kinds of feed components in typical pig feed and ileum digestibility
of more than 60 kinds of common feeds were tested. Within 5 years,
digestible energy, apparent of ileum and requirement of digestible
amino acid in the periods of 3~8kg, 8~20kg, 20~50kg, 50~90kg of body
weight were systematically studied. The first dynamics model for nutrition
requirement in China has been established based on testing for lean
meat growth index of typical commercial pigs in 5 regions including
North China, South China, Northeast, Middle South Region and West
South Region. Combined with previous research results, the first edition
of ˇ°Pig Feeding Standard in Chinaˇ± was revised, pointing out the technology
on stress resistant nutrition regulation and effects of ground degree
of raw material, evenness of mixing, pelleting and puffing technique
on quality of feed product were systematically studied and the parameters
of processing technology of different types of feed product were determined.
The experts organized by the Ministry of Education suggested after
exam and acceptation that the achievements of this project reached
international advanced level with strong utility and high technical
maturation. The achievements have extended to 278 feed and pig raising
enterprises in more than 30 provinces, cities and autonomous regions,
accumulating extension 2.5216 million ton of different kinds of feed
and realizing direct economic benefit 1500 million yuan, with significant
social benefit.
