The Structure of Meat Food in China

Pork is the traditional meat food of Chinese people, the pork output in China was 40.57 million tons in 1996, ranked 67.5% of the total meat production. There was 48.78kg meat in per capita, of it, pork was 32.93kg, it is higher than the world's average level, 37.31kg and 14.87kg respectively.The status and trend are difficult to change, due to the limited condition of developing herbivorous livestock and consumption habit formed long years ago.
