Pig breeding cost being expected
to fall
In 2004, pig feed price in domestic kept high price bringing up
pig breeding cost. Corn, as the main material, its year-average
price is as high as 1.4yuan/kg, rising by 40% compared with 2003,
and the price of lysine, fishmeal, barley, bran and rice chaff is
also in high price, comprehensive average price rose by 30% last
year.
Predicted by party concerned, whole output of wheat, corn, barley
and rye will reach 1,615,000,000ton, increasing by 10% compared
with 2004. Global wheat output of 2005 will be the new record of
618,000,000ton, rising by 12%, and output of corn, barley, rye will
reach 997,000,000ton, rising by 9%. At the same time, Chinese grain
is in a good harvest in 2004, cultivated area of autumn sowing grain
crops is also enlarged increasingly, output of summer grain crops
are expected to rise, and supply of grain and feed will be more.
As a result, pig feed price is estimated to go down in 2005, and
pig-breeding cost will be brought down. Since grain demand in China
exceeds the supply as a whole, the space for grain price falling
is small. Though feed price will fall, falling rage in pig breeding
cost is small.
