The Government of Hong Kong Special Region recently issued a report that attenuated fowl influenza vaccine can have an effect of 12 months. GAIN of the Division of Foreign Agriculture, USDA reported that HK3023 vaccine could effectively inhibit the appearance of symptoms caused by H5N1 fowl influenza strain, with commercial name called NobilisH5N2 vaccine.

Vaccine evaluation test was conducted in two phases separately. There were 13.5 million chickens from 1350 high-density poultry farms were involved in the vaccine effect test. The result showed that the vaccinated farms had no fowl influenza epidemics. The challenge test showed that the vaccine has good protective effect.
