Grassland protection and construction

China has completed 26.667 million ha of natural grassland in vegetation recovery construction, completed 808 000 ha of grassland fences. China has completed 290 000 ha of natural grassland through different grassland improvement methods, and reached the goal of protecting 1.3333 million ha of natural grassland. China has constructed 11 grass seed bases and 666.67 ha of seed field as well as 6000 ha of multiplication field and the annual seed production capacity would be 8.5 million kg upon the completion of the construction. The coverage rate of grassland vegetation in the project area will be increased by 10~12% and the grassland productivity will be significantly improved and the annual grass output per ha will be increased by about 1.5 ton, which plays an important role in grassland deterioration control.
