Forecast of main livestock
production in China
It is estimated that during the period between 2000-2005 and 2005-2015,
the overall meat production will be increased by 3% and 2.5% respectively
with a production volume of 70.40 million tons and 90.12 million
tons. Meat structure will be further optimized by the year 2005
with a proportion of 65%, 14% and 20% for pork, beef and mutton
and poultry meat and furthermore the proportion for year 2015 will
be 62%, 15% and 22% accordingly.
During the period between 2000-2005 and 2005-2015, egg production
will be increased by 2.5% and 2% respectively while production output
reach to 24 million tons and 29.26 million tons accordingly.
During the period between 2000-2005 and 2005-2015, dairy products
will be increased by 8% and 10% and the production output will be
12.80 million tons and 33.22 million tons. The figures for sheep
wool will be increased by 1% during the same period with a production
capacity of 0.33 and 0.37 million tons.
